Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Planning, Infrastructure, and Transportation (JPIT) undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of published research.
1. Initial Screening
Each submission is first reviewed by the editorial team to assess its relevance to the journal’s scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and overall scientific quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria may be returned to the author without external review.
2. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological soundness, clarity, and contribution to the field.
3. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the editorial board decides whether to:
- Accept the manuscript,
- Request minor or major revisions, or
- Reject the submission.
Authors are required to address the reviewers’ comments and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified time frame.
4. Final Review and Acceptance
Revised manuscripts may undergo an additional review round to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on acceptance for publication.
5. Review Timeline
The duration of the review process may vary depending on the complexity of the manuscript, the availability of qualified reviewers, and the timeliness of author revisions. On average, the process is expected to be completed within 6 to 10 weeks.
JPIT maintains the highest standards of academic integrity and transparency throughout the review process. The journal ensures that all editorial decisions are made solely based on scholarly merit, without bias related to authors’ background or institutional affiliation.
