Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to the Journal of Social Inquiry and Perspectives (JSIP). All submissions are initially evaluated by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts that meet these criteria will proceed to a peer review process before a final decision regarding acceptance or rejection is made.

Author Responsibilities and Ethical Considerations

Before submission, authors are responsible for securing permission to reproduce any third-party materials included in their manuscripts, such as images, tables, figures, documents, or datasets. All listed authors must agree to be identified as co-authors and approve the submitted version of the manuscript. When applicable, studies involving human participants, institutional data, or sensitive information must obtain approval from a relevant ethics committee in accordance with the legal and ethical standards of the country in which the research was conducted.

Language Policy

This journal accepts manuscripts written in Indonesian or English. Articles written in Bahasa Indonesia must include an English abstract to ensure broader accessibility for international readers.

Manuscript Quality and Editorial Screening

Submissions that do not meet the journal’s minimum quality standards or fail to follow the required format may be desk-rejected without external peer review. Authors are encouraged to ensure that their research design, analysis, and arguments are presented clearly, coherently, and systematically.

Writing Guidelines and Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts must comply with the JSIP Writing Guidelines, which provide detailed instructions regarding manuscript structure, formatting, and style. These guidelines cover, among others, title length, author information, abstract and keywords format, section organization, citation style, and reference formatting.

Compliance with these guidelines will improve the likelihood of the manuscript being accepted for peer review. Once authors are confident that their submission meets all requirements, they are advised to consult the submission checklist provided below before submitting their manuscript.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
