Keywords:

This study investigates the influence of teamwork, work environment, and financial compensation on employee engagement among staff of Miyana Hotel Medan. Employee engagement is essential in the hotel sector due to its dependence on coordinated service delivery and consistent performance. A quantitative survey involving 48 permanent employees selected through purposive sampling was used, and data were analyzed with multiple linear regression. Results show that teamwork has a positive and significant effect on employee engagement, highlighting the importance of interpersonal coordination and collaborative work processes. The work environment exhibits a positive but insignificant effect, indicating that moderately adequate physical conditions do not substantially elevate engagement. Financial compensation also demonstrates a positive yet insignificant effect, reinforcing its role as a hygiene factor rather than a primary driver of psychological attachment. Taken together, the three variables significantly account for variations in employee engagement. These findings suggest that efforts to strengthen engagement in the hotel industry should prioritize team-based work dynamics, improve physical work conditions, and ensure compensation systems that are perceived as fair and transparent.
